Allergies

For many people, the change in seasons can be very unpleasant. For some, seasonal allergies can cause severe symptoms, such as sneezing, running nose, and itchy eyes. Allergies can be alleviated without the use of over-the-counter medications? Traditional Chinese Medicine is a holistic medicine that addresses the environment and various bodily systems to address seasonal and other types of allergies, unlike conventional treatments.

Below are a few treatments that can help;

Allergies &Traditional Chinese Medicine

Allergic reactions can be triggered by the environment, one’s own body, or both. Luckily our bodies can adapt to our environments. However, the body is not able to adjust when it is damaged, fatigued, and/or unbalanced. Traditional Chinese Medicine helps the body clear out the allergen that's causing the allergic reaction. The goal is to determine how much of the condition is caused by the body's internal organs and how much by external factors. When the body is strengthened in accordance with their environment, reactions to an allergen can be prevented. Through the use of acupuncture, herbal medicine, cupping, and gua sha you find relief from allergies.

Allergies Acupuncture Treatment

Many people with allergic conditions who choose acupuncture are seeking to improve the effectiveness of their existing medications. Others are looking for ways to reduce or even eliminate the effects of their treatments. A review conducted in 2015 revealed that people who had acupuncture had significantly nasal symptoms associated with seasonal allergies.

Acupuncture treatments work by balancing the signals from the body's various systems, such as the immune system, which can be directly linked to the stimulation of nerve fibers within the brain and the transmission of messages to the brain. Acupuncture also influences various cell activities, such as the transport and breakdown of bioactive mediators. This influence calms an overactive immune system. Since allergies are due to an overactive immune system, calming it will alleviate allergy reactions.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbs are often used to relieve phlegmatic coughs and relieve red and itchy eyes. Herbal formulas are tailored to prevent further reactions and address your symptoms. Allergic reactions can be triggered by the environment, one’s own body, or both. Chinese Herbal Medicine helps the body clearing out the allergen that's causing the allergic reaction. Certain herbs are added to herbal formulas to strengthen the body in accordance with the environment so that future reactions to an allergen can be prevented.

Gua sha

Gua sha involves scraping a smooth object over tissue to increase blood flow to the area. Research hasshown that gua sha increases microcirculation of surface tissue, reduces inflammation, and stimulates the immune system to promote self healing.Gua Sha increases the surface micro-circulation of the body. This reduces inflammation and regulates oxygenase. This helps the immune system deal with oxidative stress in the body, which can decrease and prevent allergic reactions.
