Postpartum Depression

Postpartum depression (PPD) is caused by the hormonal changes following birth, which causes an abrupt and drastic changes in hormone levels. This condition can manifest immediately after birth and can last for any time during the child's first year. Symptoms can range from mild to severe and include but are not limited to: depression, irritability, difficulty concentrating, withdrawing from family and friends, feeling disconnected from their child, and doubting their ability to care for their child.
